Our custom football jerseys are patterned around shoulder pads first, because equipment, not the body underneath, decides how a football jersey fits. A jersey that hangs well on a rack can ride up and pull tight once pads go on, so the pattern starts from the pads.
How should a football jersey fit over pads?
It should cover the shoulder pads completely and stay tucked through contact, with the sleeve sitting snug over the pad cap so there is little for a defender to grab. That is why we ask which pad model your players wear, size every jersey over it and suggest a size set with the sample.
Which fabrics are used for football jerseys?
Game jerseys use a polyester-rich jersey with stretch panels, made for sublimation, and practice jerseys are micro polyester interlock or bird-eye mesh, both 100% polyester. Base layers are poly-spandex jersey, 88% polyester and 12% elastane, and sideline hoodies come in brushed fleece, 65% cotton, for late-season nights.

What should you check before ordering custom football uniforms?
Tell us which shoulder pads your players use. Fit over pads differs more from one pad maker to another than from one player to another.
Order lineman and skill cuts separately. Linemen need room through the chest, while receivers and backs want a closer jersey that gives defenders less to grab.
Decide how numbers go on. Stitched tackle twill is the classic game-day finish; sublimated numbers are lighter and suit practice jerseys. Heat-pressed numbers tend to lift over a season of contact.
What do NFHS and NCAA say about football numbers?
Both set minimum number heights on the front and back of the jersey and require a clear contrast with the body color, and both limit two players on the field wearing the same number at once. Trim and contrast details change more often than heights, so send the current rulebook page with your order.

How do you size football jerseys over equipment?
Size over the pads players will actually wear on game day. Youth jerseys come from a youth pattern. On a first order, add a size set to the sample so the fit can be tried with pads on.

Do linemen and skill players need different jerseys?
Usually, yes. Mark each player's cut on the size breakdown and the order is split to match.
Should game numbers be twill or sublimated?
Twill for game jerseys if you want the traditional raised finish, quoted on request; sublimated for practice jerseys, where weight and price matter more.
Who owns the uniform design?
You do. The design stays yours, and the artwork is kept on file so later orders, replacements and new players match the original run.
Can supporters buy a version of the game jersey?
Yes. A looser fan cut carries the team design without the pad-fit panels, and names and numbers can match the players'.
Is the sample charged?
The sample is priced at the first-tier rate, and that amount comes off the invoice when you go ahead with the style.
