Team uniform size chart
The body sizes behind every Velofit chart, how to measure a player, and how to get a whole roster right before the order is made.
Velofit size charts are body measurements: measure the player, not a shirt. Adult, women's and youth sizes each come from their own pattern, shown in centimeters and inches. Chest or bust decides tops; waist and hip decide bottoms. Each product page adds garment measurements for its cut, and a size set with the sample confirms a roster.

How do I read the size charts?
The tables on this page are body measurements: measure the player, not a shirt. They are the same body sizes used on every product page, so a medium means the same player across the whole range. Where a player falls between two sizes, choose by the fit they prefer.
Each product page has its own size chart in two tabs: body measurements, to choose the size, and garment measurements, the finished piece laid flat for that exact cut. A hockey sweater cut over pads, a fitted volleyball jersey and a compression short all wear differently in the same size, so check the product's own chart before you order.
These are our standard patterns. If your program has its own graded size chart, send it and we cut to it instead. On a first order, a size set with the sample confirms the breakdown before anything is made.
Adult (men's and unisex)
Chest decides tops and waist decides bottoms; height and inseam are a guide to length. 5XL is made only in the garments whose product chart lists it.

Inseam here is the body measurement, crotch to floor. Shorts are cut to the inseam of each style, shown in its garment measurements; basketball and volleyball shorts can be cut to the inseam each player asks for.
Women's
Cut on a women's pattern of its own, with a narrower shoulder, a shorter rise and more room at the hip, not a resized men's garment. Bust decides tops; hip, then waist, decides bottoms.

Youth
Youth sizes come from a youth pattern. Ages are a rough guide only: measure each player, chest first for tops and waist for bottoms, then height.

| YXS | 4-5 | 5-6 | 58–63 cm / 23–25" | 53–56 cm / 21–22" | 104–117 cm / 41–46" |

Sports that size their own way
- Football and lacrosse jerseys worn over shoulder pads are chosen by pad size first; the product chart lists the chest over pads.
- Hockey sweaters run in youth, junior, intermediate and senior sizes, with a roomier goalie cut.
- Wrestling singlets are chosen by weight and height, with the torso measurement checked before a size is final.
- Socks go by shoe size, caps and beanies by head circumference, and bags by their dimensions.

How do I measure a player for a uniform?
Use a soft tape and have the player stand naturally in a T-shirt. Keep the tape flat against the body: firm enough not to slip, loose enough to slide a finger under.
- Chest or bust Pass the tape under both armpits and round the widest point of the chest, keeping it horizontal across the back. Arms hang down while you read it.
- Waist Find the slimmest part of the torso, a little above the belly button. Ask the player to breathe out normally, then take the reading.
- Hip Stand with heels together and measure round the widest part of the hips and seat. Use this figure for kilts, knickers and anything cut on the women's pattern.
- Height Barefoot, back against a wall and heels touching it: lay a flat object on the head, mark the wall, and measure from the floor to the mark.
- Inseam Barefoot, feet slightly apart: measure from the crotch down the inside of the leg to the floor. Or lay a well-fitting pair of pants flat and measure the inner leg seam, crotch to hem.
- Say what you measured Body figures and garment figures differ by the ease built into the cut. Label your numbers as one or the other, so nobody guesses and a roster is not cut a size out.
How do we get a whole roster's sizes right?
- Order a size set with the sample: one garment in each size, so players try the real thing before the breakdown is final.
- Send a roster with each player's name, number and size, and each uniform is packed and labeled for that player.
- Already have a graded chart of your own? Send it and the order is cut to your numbers rather than ours.

What is a size set?
A size set is one garment in each size you need, sent with the sample, so players can try the real thing before the size breakdown is final.
Are the charts in inches or centimeters?
Both. Every body measurement on this page is shown in centimeters and inches, and the product size charts work the same way.
Do women's uniforms use a separate pattern?
Yes. Women's sizes are cut on a pattern of their own, with a narrower shoulder, a shorter rise and more room at the hip, not resized from the men's.
Can you cut to our league's own size chart?
Yes. Send your graded chart and the order is cut to your measurements instead of our standard patterns.
What if a player is between two sizes?
Choose by the fit the player prefers, then check against the garment measurements on that product's own chart, or try both sizes in a size set.
