Softball racer-back game top
Fitted women's racer-back with 6 cm bust ease in a stretch knit, straps that meet between the shoulder blades to free the throwing arm, and a shorter body worn tucked into the knicker. Youth (girls') sizes use a straight, unshaped body, so their 1/2 waist equals the narrower of 1/2 chest and 1/2 hem.

How to measure
- Chest / bust
- Youth: Over a thin T-shirt or bare skin, arms relaxed at the sides: pass the tape under both armpits and around the fullest part of the chest and the shoulder blades, level all the way round. Snug, not tight; one finger should slide under. Women's (bust): Around the fullest part of the bust and across the shoulder blades, wearing the sports bra that will be worn under the uniform, tape level across the back.
- Waist
- Around the natural waist, the narrowest part of the torso a little above the belly button, after a normal breath out. Do not pull in.
- Height
- Barefoot, back against a wall, heels touching it, looking straight ahead: mark the top of the head with a flat object and measure floor to mark.
- Fitted on purpose: size by bust over the sports bra; between sizes, go up for a pitcher, down for a fielder who wants it close.
- Racer-back straps are cut to sit over a racer-back or cross-back sports bra.
- Body length is measured at the front because the racer-back has no shoulder seam at the back.
Softball knicker (women's pattern, below the knee)
Women's below-the-knee knicker: low rise, 14 cm hip ease and its own length so the knee sits where the leg bends and the cuff lands just below it, showing the sock. Belt loops and an elastic-backed waistband.

- Waist

- Inseam is the knicker's own below-the-knee length; it is not a cut-down full pant.
- In the racer-back uniform, the top and knicker are sized separately.

- Lay the garment flat, front up, and measure straight across from side seam to side seam 2.5 cm below the armholes (pit to pit).
- 1/2 waist
- Lay flat and measure straight across at the narrowest point of the side shaping, about 40 cm below the high shoulder point on adult sizes.
- 1/2 hem
- Lay flat and measure straight across the bottom edge, side seam to side seam.
- Body length (HPS, front)
- From the high point of the shoulder (where the shoulder seam or raglan seam meets the collar) straight down the back to the hem.
- Armhole depth
- From the high point of the shoulder straight down to the level of the bottom of the armhole.

How to measure
- 1/2 waist (relaxed)
- Waistband laid flat and unstretched, measured straight across the top edge.
- 1/2 waist (stretched)
- Waistband gently stretched to its comfortable limit (not to the stitch-breaking point), measured straight across.
- 1/2 hip
- Lay flat and measure straight across at the widest point of the seat, about 18 cm (adult) or 13 cm (youth) below the waistband top.
- 1/2 thigh
- Lay one leg flat and measure straight across 2.5 cm below the crotch seam, perpendicular to the leg.
- Front rise
- From the crotch seam junction up the front center seam to the top of the waistband.
- Inseam
- Along the inside leg seam from the crotch seam junction to the hem.
- 1/2 leg opening (cuff, relaxed)
- Hem of one leg laid flat, measured straight across edge to edge (elastic cuffs measured relaxed).

About the custom softball racer-back game uniforms
Custom softball racer-back uniforms pair a racer-back top with a knicker, a set built for summer fastpitch. The racer-back cut leaves the shoulder blades clear, so nothing sits across the back of the shoulder when a pitcher winds up or a fielder throws.
The top is cut on a women's pattern, and the knicker is patterned for its own length so the knee falls in the right place. Together they keep a player cool through a weekend of tournament games without looking like practice wear.
Sublimate the top in full color and add a printed number on the back, which keeps it light on a hot day. Each piece is colored to its own spec, so the knicker can be solid while the top carries the design. Finish the set with team socks in matching stripes and a team visor (SB-025) with your script for sunny fields. Players who want a sleeveless top on its own can take the sleeveless jersey (SB-010). Youth sizes for both pieces come from their own patterns, and the roster sets each player's top and knicker size separately.
